TYPES OF CLASSES

WOD class is part of a complete program designed to improve strength and conditioning.

The “WOD” is the “workout of the day.” Each six block of carefully planned daily WODs are posted to our app (WODify) in advance so you can see what is coming. The program is designed to improve strength and conditioning across the board. The WOD can be modified (adjusted) to provide a suitable challenge for athletes at any level. You will be coached through a warm-up, skill preparation for all elements of the workout, then finally we will hit the workout.

CROSSFIT

®

engine

A barbell-free, aerobic fitness conditioning workout.

This is a barbell free class. In a very useful & easy format, you will develop three things. 1) your cardiovascular conditioning (Engine) 2) the ability to recover from high-intensity exercise 3) simple weighted and unweighted exercise technique that we use in the CrossFit® methodology. This is accessible to all levels.

Gymnastics classes to enhance your CrossFit® training.

Our gymnastics program has monthly themes with linear progression so you can tune your gymnastic skills for CrossFit®.  You will improve your capacity to control your body both dynamically and statically while maximizing strength to weight ratio and flexibility. This is open to everyone, at all stages of development.

A highly specialised program designed to improve specific movements.

A barbell based class that refines the technical aspects of Olympic-style weightlifting.  The class is again open to all levels. Beginners and seasoned pro’s are welcome! As with all of the other programs, the Olympic Weightlifting program complements the main WOD programming.

endurance

Hybrid fitness Shapesmiths style.

Our Endurance class at CrossFit Shapesmiths is a 90-minute, high-energy session designed to boost your stamina, speed, and work capacity. With a mix of running, rowing, cycling, and functional movements, you’ll build cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance all at once. Ideal for hybrid athletes balancing strength and endurance training. 

Functional

Body Building

The goal is to enhance motor control, build strength, develop hypertrophy, and improve overall functional capacity for everyday life. 

The FBB program operates on the foundational principles of quality movement, controlled tempo, and periodised training. It integrates functional movements with bodybuilding techniques to prepare clients for daily tasks and enhance their athletic potential.

This program is designed to be accessible to all levels, from beginners to advanced athletes, and is a valuable complement to our CrossFit® classes.

throwdown

This class is on every Saturday on the schedule.

With an extended run time of 90mins the classes allow dedicated time to the more advanced elements of CrossFit® and towards making FUNctional fitness competitions LESS SCARY. 

The class will focus on enhancing gymnastics and weightlifting skills and using them in partner and synchronised movement workouts.

kids & teens

We teach the importance of physical activity and help develop confidence & self-esteem, through fitness!

In CrossFit® Kids & Teens, we teach transferable life skills, working as part of a team and giving those that are not keen on the traditional sports (football, rugby, netball etc) another potential outlet to have fun and find something they are good at

masters

Online classes for older athletes. Our group trains for health and wellness no matter the ability, health status or location!

Our masters program is for those who are +60 years old but it is open to below 60 too! The aim of the program is training for health and wellness no matter you ability or health status, connection with people all over the world and forging new friendships, both virtually and in person! Attendees of our masters program tune in from England, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, Germany, France and the USA!

Step into a world of zen and try something new!

At CrossFit Shapesmiths, our yoga classes—offered Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday—blend Yin and Vinyasa to improve mobility, recovery, and mental focus. Ideal for CrossFitters seeking injury prevention and enhanced performance, beginners craving better flexibility, or anyone looking to balance strength training with mindful movement. All levels welcome!
